Tablet Playbook yang disasarkan kepada pengguna perniagaan yang mahukan komunikasi selamat dijangka mampu memberi persaingan dalam segmen tablet antarabangsa.

“Ini adalah komputer tablet profesional yang pertama di dunia.

“Anda akan melalui pengalaman penuh ketika melayari laman web,” kata Presiden dan Ketua Eksekutif Bersama RIM, Mike Lazaridis ketika mempamerkan peralatan tersebut di San Francisco baru-baru ini.

Playbook adalah satu daripada sejumlah komputer tablet yang akan dikeluarkan dalam usaha mengatasi iPad dan merupakan cubaan pertama di luar modul telefon bimbit untuk syarikat RIM.

Ia mempunyai skrin sesentuh berukuran 17.8 sentimeter, lebih kecil berbanding iPad yang bersaiz 25 sentimeter dan menggunakan perisian video Adobe Flash.

Keistimewaan tablet terbaru ini adalah pengguna BlackBerry boleh menyambung telefon pintar mereka dengan Playbook menggunakan Bluetooth untuk melihat e-mel, kalendar, dokumen atau kandungan lain.
